Josh Penzell
Artistic Director and Co-Founder
Josh Penzell (he/him/his) is an artist without an art form, surfing a prismatic career careening from technology to theater to talent enablement. In other words, he still doesn’t know what he wants to be when he grows up. While he works with his life coach on figuring that out, Josh advises on human performance strategy internationally while also TheaterThinking through problems as the Senior Director, Leadership & Business Product Management for Skillsoft.
He holds an MBA from U of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, an MFA in Theater Directing from CUNY-Brooklyn College, and a BS in Communications from Northwestern U.
Josh is also a proud member of the Stage Director and Choreographers Society (SDC) the labor union representing theater directors. His productions have toured internationally and received two nominations by the Off-Broadway Theater Alliance for “Best Family Show”; he didn’t win the awards, but now he’s launched TheaterThink, so you tell me who got the last laugh.
